Part talk, part film screening.

Future Artists Presents a show and tell on Boutique film distribution: why small films, with big stories matter, and how the digital global campfire, allows an audience to share the story + share in profit, both social and £££’

45min talk/debate on ‘Camp Fire theory’ by Mark Ashmore FRSA/Future Artists

98min film screening ‘Invisible Circus : No Dress Rehearsal’

20min Q+A with the films director Naomi Smyth

Gather round tonight’s campfire, for a talk on why small micro budget films, made with a passion, on a subject or theme that connects with a few hundred people initially online, can go global and reach audiences of hundreds and thousands world-wide, by following a few simple rules, passed on by our forefathers, and why the digital revolution is not that digital after all…

Welcome to the world of the ‘Future Artists and the ‘Invisible Circus’

Mark Ashmore FRSA will be introducing his theory on the ‘global digital campfire’.

the talk will focus on how as a tool for storytelling, and audience collaboration, the true Indy auteur film makers, and the true Indy artists can have a powerful voice in the world, and become part of a self funded, self sustaining eco-system, which has allot to do with mackrowikinomics and less to do with the traditional film/media industry, Bob Dylan was right (you) ‘don’t have to work on Maggie’s farm no more’.

And to put this theory into context, Channel 4 will be hosting the London premiere of Naomi Smyth’s debut feature documentary ‘Invisible Circus: No Dress Rehearsal’ 4 years in the making, the film follows an underground arts circus (the invisible circus) who turn spaces and buildings left to rot by the community and big business, and set about bringing them back to life, in doing so they regenerated part of Bristol, effected the creative social culture of their community and built a sustainable world, all from a collective idea!.

In the spirit of this quote by Frank Zappa, Channel 4 and Future Artists invite you to experience a night where, ‘without deviation from the norm progress is not possible’
