Our new friends M&C Saatchi and Endemol

Future Artists media collective, who have recently taken up residence in New East Manchester’s The Sharp Project digital production complex, are celebrating a fantastic bumper month of business this May 2013. Together, Future Artists and The Sharp Project are proving that Manchester means business when it comes to the film industry.

Future Artists are a start-up media collective with over 10 years prior experience in the film, TV and content business. Their motto is “Without deviation from the norm, progress is not possible”, and it is evident in their creative style and working method that this motto is at the heart of their business and everything they do.

The pioneering collective have recently licensed 80’s cult children’s favourite, Pob, in an exciting joint venture with Bafta award-winning puppeteer Robin Stevens.


Pob vs future artists

In partnership with YouTube, Future Artists will be re-launching ‘Pob’s World’ as an online show and transmedia experience in summer 2013, which is highly anticipated by Pob’s hundreds and thousands of fans and Facebook followers. A strong sense of eagerness for the return of Pob is already being expressed through various social media platforms that are buzzing with come-back rumours and Pob-related childhood anecdotes.

There is a lot of excitement on the horizon for Future Artists, who have recently signed a 3 picture deal, with The Sharp Project having been agreed as the production base. Future Artists’ forth-coming slate of features consists of multi-award winning film producer Manuel Cristobal co-producing Manchester themed production “City of Football”.

The Beatles Hamburg v future artists

Another on going Future Artists project is The Beatles documentary The Beatles: Young and Reckless in Hamburg, which is currently attracting an array of media attention and fan-led funding. It is this genuine support and excitement for the project that has encouraged Liverpool Vision to jump on board and offer their official and valuable support.

Mark Ashmore’s feature debut, The Lost Generation, is also set for release this summer, with a distribution deal lined up with London-based Safecracker Pictures.

 

And with an impressive client list building each month, including Channel 4, M&C Saatchi, England football foundation and Endemol, things are looking good in east Manchester for the Future Artists media collective.
